Death Tank combines tank gameplay with that of Scorched Earth and the Worms series. The game is on a single-screen 2D battlefield with several tanks positioned among valleys and mountains from a side view. Players must move their tanks left and right while estimating the ballistics of the projectiles based on shoot angle and shot force. Because the game is performed in real-time, you can fire missiles, shells, and nukes at the same time. You may even fire a machine gun up close, and your health is displayed as a little bar above the cars.
Extra items let the tank fly with jump jets, consume super fuel to increase speed, activate a shield, explode when destroyed, and engage AI-precise targeting. Packages are dropped from planes, and some are buried in the terrain. Lasers, crazy rockets, plasma streams, plasma balls, and delay bombs (sticky bombs) are additional weapons that can be obtained.
The game is divided into two battle campaigns, each with twenty rounds. While playing, you can spend your points on one of twelve potential upgrades. Local multiplayer supports four players, and online multiplayer supports eight players.
