DJ Hero 2 is the DJ Hero Faux Instrument Rhythm Game sequel. The player must follow the song’s rhythm by scratching the music and matching the on-screen prompts using a conventional console controller or the turnstile accessory intended for the DJ Hero games to score as many points as possible.
DJ Hero 2 features a new soundtrack featuring music from Lady Gaga, the Chemical Brothers, Dr. Dre, and the Prodigy, as well as the standard issue of better graphics for sequels. DJ Hero 2 also includes a new game mode called Empire, similar to the single-player career. Players guide their up-and-coming DJ through the game and DJ their way to the top. The player can even construct their nightclub for their character in locations such as London and Berlin, which they can tour and promote, increasing the player’s fame.
The multiplayer mode begins similarly to any other rhythm game. However, DJ Hero 2 adds a unique rewind feature that allows users to rewind songs in multiplayer to remedy any mistakes they have made. However, the rewind ability is only granted when the player has done enough to earn it and is only temporary. DJ Hero 2 includes conventional head-to-head gameplay and the option for another player to manage the track’s vocals, matching the pitch and tempo as closely as possible.
