Doritos Crash Course is a free XBLA game based on the Japanese game shows Takeshi’s Castle and Sasuke and Wipeout in the West. It’s a 2D platformer where the player must finish obstacle courses as rapidly as possible while a live audience cheers in the background. Players direct their Xbox Avatar across three locations (USA, Europe, and Japan), each featuring five stages. Exaggerated physics allows the characters to jump incredibly high throughout the game. Each route is separated into sections, each with a checkpoint. Moving platforms and conveyor belts, swings, chains, and ropes, paint gun pellets that drive the avatar back, trampolines, temporary venues, and swinging hammers are among the obstacles and hazards. Each stage aims to finish as rapidly as possible, and a medal is awarded based on the completion time. When lowering a platform, an unlimited number of retries are available.

The avatar can run, sprint (risking losing balance), jump, duck, and slide under obstacles. If a segment is missed numerous times, it can be bypassed, but the player is referred to as a chicken instead of receiving a medal at the end. Offline (split-screen) and internet multiplayer are both supported for four players.
