Just months after the release of UEFA Euro 2008, one of EA’s best-selling games receives another yearly upgrade. However, the creators adjusted the game further, such as implementing a new physics model, which lends more realism to collisions and enhanced responsiveness and goalkeeper AI and animations, in keeping with past game upgrades.
The game includes the normal modes featured in previous games and additions to the Be a Pro mode, now allowing up to 20 people on 20 consoles to connect through the Internet and join a 10 vs. single match. There’s also a new paid premium mode called “Adidas Live Season,” which tracks the actual results of six of the most important leagues (Barclay’s Premier League, La Liga BBVA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Mexican Primera Division) to dynamically update players’ statistics up-to-the-week based on their form and performances. FIFA 09 Clubs*, a new online feature exclusive to the PS3 and X360, allows players to build or join user-controlled football teams of up to 50 pals and field their strongest team when playing in Be A Pro. As FIFA 09 Clubs* determines the finest virtual team globally, teams will be relegated or promoted to different divisions based on performance.
