As its name suggests, Fight Night Round 4 is the fourth installment in the boxing series developed and published by Electronic Arts. This time around, you have a selection of over 40 athletes to pick from, spanning multiple decades and weight classes, and some of the names on that list include Evander Holyfield, Floyd Mayweather, and (most importantly) Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali.

You can choose from an essential selection of fighters or use a robust set of creation tools to create your personalized fighter alongside the default choices. The most remarkable feature of these tools is the option to use a PS3 camera or EA Sports’ website to upload images of yourself (or anyone else), which will then be used to construct a customized 3D head for your created boxer. This feature allows you to create a fighter that looks just like you.

The “Legacy Mode” of the game allows you to use these custom-built boxers. In this mode, you begin the game as a 19-year-old amateur eager to establish a name for himself in boxing. During your career, you will engage in several tiles, and in between bouts, you will improve your skills by playing various minigames. You can win several championships, after which you can attempt to defend your title(s) against other up-and-coming fighters. After your boxer has reached the point of no return, he will become available for exhibition mode, where he can take on any of the game’s pre-set opponents. The effectiveness of your fighter, once he is added to the roster of available fighters, is determined by how many particular tasks you complete during his career. These challenges include things like keeping a win rate of at least 95% or holding three crowns at the same time.

There is also an online global championship included in Fight Night Round 4, which will rank you against every other player in the world competing in the same weight class as your fighter. In this mode, wins and defeats are recorded and tracked.
