The third installment in the FlatOut demolition racing series is FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage. Like its predecessor, this game is mainly about damage – earning points by driving is secondary to earning points by wrecking.
Compared to FlatOut 2, the game’s look has improved substantially. Not only is everything in High Definition, but the game also includes a lot of destructible landscapes. Almost anything, including traffic lights, fences, and even plastic garden chairs, can be garbage.
Ultimate Carnage introduces new graphics and game modes, such as the Deathmatch Derby, which features a closed arena with no defined track; the game objective shifts from a circular racing track to a simple fragging contest.
As in previous editions, the game includes multiple online modes (all game modes can be played online) and the infamously wacky Ragdoll Olympics mode, in which most game modes conclude with the driver character leaving through the windscreen and causing severe bodily harm.
