The events in Gears of War 3 take place 18 months after the conclusion of the second game in the series and continue the plot that was started in the Gears of War books, with the most recent installment titled Coalition’s End.
After the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) sank the Jacinto to flood the Locust Hordes’ underground homeland, they were compelled to evacuate their whole population to their previous island stronghold and navy base on Vectes via Port Farrell. Jacinto had been sunk to flood the Locust Hordes’ subterranean homeland. However, due to the increasing danger posed by the newly formed Lambent, the COG has also been compelled to withdraw from Vectes Island. As a direct consequence, the COG has been abolished, and its people have been distributed among many smaller towns not to attract the notice of the Lambent. The player will, once again, assume the position of Sergeant Marcus Fenix, the leader of Delta Squad, who is currently aboard the flotilla of ships housing the survivors as they deal with the relocation and fight off the threat posed by the lambent.
The shooter action from the previous Gears games is carried over into Gears 3, employing the same over-the-shoulder third-person perspective. Additionally, the game features a cover system that enables players to move from cover point to cover point, roll, and blind fire weapons or lob grenades. Because of vaulting over shorter cover points, players can now take opponents down with them. The term “roadie run” refers to a type of run similar to sprinting but performed in a crouching position rather than standing up straight. Also making a comeback is the active reload, which gives the player either a damage boost and a speedy fill if they time it perfectly or speeds up reloading if they hit reload again soon enough.
Playing a Gears game with more than three other people has never been possible, but now you may do so on Xbox Live. The other three players will take on the role of Delta Squad. The five-player co-op Horde Mode in Gears of War 2 receives an update, which is referred to as Horde Mode 2.0. In addition, the new Beast Mode is a part of the package. This model is the antithesis of the Horde Mode, and it puts players in the role of a member of the Locust Horde who is striving to outlive wave after wave of COG soldiers. In addition, each of the previously available multiplayer game modes has been returned.
