The animated film of the same name serves as the inspiration for the video game Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. The fundamental idea of the story is that Sid will be taken captive by dinosaurs, and his pals will have to rescue him. The player will assume control of six different characters throughout the game, and most of these characters will have significantly different gameplay.
Most of the time is spent playing a third-person platformer, in which the player controls his avatar and must dodge obstacles, leap over gaps, and gather things while avoiding adversaries. The player can choose from a variety of various attacks depending on the character that he uses.
