Vertical shooter based on the Naomi Arcade version. Ikaruga is essentially a Sega Saturn sequel to Radiant Silvergun.
During gaming, the player must flip between his ship’s black and white sides, based on a two-color system. The black side is impervious to black opponent bullets, which it regards as a bonus, and it dies when it comes into contact with white enemy bullets. Your black bullets deal twice as much damage to white foes as white shots. The opposite is true for the white side. These characteristics strike a balance between shielding yourself and eliminating adversaries quickly.
This, paired with specific opponent patterns and a combination system, makes Ikaruga a unique shoot-em-up with a strategic twist.
