Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore continues its predecessor, Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol. Auditioning for the show and performing to become the next American Idol in front of celebrity judges Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul (who was not present in the prior iteration) are still a part of the competition. Paula Abdul was not a judge on the previous version of the show. In addition, there are new songs that players can sing, and players can go head-to-head against one another.
Each version is nearly identical, except for the graphics and controls (the Wii may be controlled by using the Wii controller to traverse the menus). However, the PS3 and PS2 can utilize the Eyetoy device to put a three-dimensional model of the player’s head into the game, and the PS3 may use the Playstation Eye to set the player into the game directly. The Xbox 360 and PC versions do not have this capability. Each version also allows players to customize their avatars with various outfits. Similarly, the PS3 and 360 versions can access the internet and download more than 140 songs from their respective online providers.
