The action-puzzle video game Luxor 2, the sequel to the original Luxor, features an arcade-style interface. The scarab with wings at the bottom of the screen is the character you control. The game aims to aim at and destroy spheres of varying colors as they approach a pyramid. You will automatically lose a life if a sphere collides with the pyramid. You need to fire the orbs in the stream with another sphere of the same color so they are grouped in three or more before they may be destroyed. Because of the way the game mechanics work, you need to carefully plan your moves and string together a succession of properly placed bullets.
The game has been updated to include 88 new stages and 13 new bonus rounds. During these, the player navigates around a map of ancient Egypt to save it from the awful wrath of Set. The difficulty of the game increases with each new level. The game also includes the following components: a choice of four difficulty levels, including the mind-bending Challenge of Horus, 13 intriguing power-ups, and an online player ranking system. The Practice, Survival, and Pharaoh’s Challenge game modes are also included.
