Midnight Club: Los Angeles is the latest installment in the Midnight Club series, and this time, the player has free reign of the City of Angels in a plethora of imports, tuners, American muscle cars, and even motorcycles, all with a plethora of customizable options ranging from performance parts to appearance parts such as spoilers and rims.
The gameplay is similar to NFS: Most Wanted, in which players explore the streets of Los Angeles and can race in illegal street events just by flashing their headlights at other automobiles. There are twelve different racing events in which you can compete:

Police officers may also be found in the game, patrolling the streets of Los Angeles and breaking up street racing. The cops will chase the player with an army of squad cars, helicopters, and spike strips to put him to a halt at all costs.
The game’s main feature is a story mode in which the player controls a constructed racer and races in an illegal racing circuit, earning money and “REP” to unlock and purchase upgrades to fine-tune their car. These “REP” points can also open and buy more powerful cars.
There are also four other “attacks” that the player can use during the race to either slow down or completely stop opponents. A zone is a slow-motion option where players can use the time to evade incoming traffic or police cars. Agro strengthens the player’s car, allowing it to smash opponents or entirely disable them. Roar sends a shock wave from the player’s automobile, pushing rival cars and traffic to the side and clearing a route. EMP emits an electromagnetic pulse that turns off the engine of any adversary or following police vehicle.
