The video game Monsters vs. Aliens is an adaptation of the computer-animated film of the same name. The player gets to handle three different characters from the movie throughout the game, and each of those characters has its own unique set of gameplay aspects. The fish-human hybrid known as Missing Link must make it through levels that play out like most licensed games based on animated films, namely as a third-person platformer.
The parts of the game involving B.o.B., a slime monster, focus more on puzzle-solving. He can ingest goods or opponents and then spew them at other adversaries. These are also employed to press switches and as a safety method while crossing bars; if BoB did not have anything substantial, he would just slip through them. In B.o.B., in addition to navigating mazes, the player must complete various shooting sequences. The final character is Gigantika, a woman who stands at a height of 15 meters. She guides the course using trucks as inline skates, and she must master various quick time events, which require her to jump over obstacles or hit a displayed button as quickly as possible.
When playing in co-op mode, the secondary player assumes the role of a Dr. Cockroach and assists the primary player with suitable actions, such as shooting. The player can unlock numerous pieces of supplementary content, such as concept art, cut scenes (or levels), and audio commentaries.
