Ms. Splosion Man is the same game as ‘Splosion Man but with new levels and a female protagonist. The plot is that the evil scientists from the predecessor kidnapped the hero and celebrated, but Ms. Splosion Man was formed due to a mishap. After that, the story becomes secondary, except for the protagonist’s amusing comments.
Ms. Splosion Man has only one ability: strategical self-explosion, which she may perform up to three times in succession, effectively a triple leap. She must avoid the many traps in the levels while utilizing the environment (for example, exploding barrels). Most problems need superb timing. However, there are occasionally little puzzles (typically involving switches). If a level fails frequently enough, it may be skipped; on the other hand, a group may be repeated faster or raced against other players’ ghost replays. There is also a co-op campaign for up to four players with 50 different levels.
The mobile versions of the game differ in a few ways. While the levels are the same, new stories are not unlocked automatically after completing the previous one but must be paid using tokens. These can be acquired by completing one of the 1500 challenges (for example, destroying a particular number of things or defeating a developer’s ghost) or purchased via micro-transaction. The six power-ups, which, for example, make the protagonist faster, are helpful for this task but must also be acquired with tokens. There is no multiplayer available.
