Untamed is an update to MX vs. ATV Unleashed, including old and new features. There are 250cc and 550cc bikes, as well as four ATV versions, as well as monster trucks, offroad dune buggy, and trophy trucks.
Players can perform insane stunts and compete in six different racing series (Supercross, Nationals, Opencross, Supermoto, Freestyle, and Rally) or in the X-Cross, a tournament that combines all of the series into one, plus sponsorships can be obtained: good performances earn the player better bikes. It also has a Crash Camera, which, like MotorStorm, provides a super slow-mo breakdown of accidents and crashes.
ATV hockey, Monster Truck Smash, and Tag, to mention a few mini-games, have also been incorporated. In the online mode, the player competes against other players. The gameplay is highly similar to that of console systems, with specific buttons for gas and brakes and the ability to utilize the Wii remote.
The DS and PSP versions are nearly identical. Even though having few vehicles and only a championship mode, unlike the various series available on the central console versions, it includes ten exclusive tracks and three stadiums. The PSP version is nearly identical to the console version but contains different series: Race, One-on-One, Time Attack, Stunt Challenge, Stunt Race, Hang-Time, Combo Challenge, and Flag Challenge. It also features an X-Cross tournament. However, it is known as the MX vs. ATV World Tour. Wi-Fi can be used to play games against pals.
