Action game featuring puzzle and role-playing game (RPG) elements, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja is the first Naruto video game to be developed in North America. The fights occur in arenas, evocative of traditional one-on-one fighting games. However, there is more to the action than simply each character’s combos; ninjutsu minigames, fury mode, thrown weapons, and replacement methods all add to the excitement.
You play the role of Naruto and progress through the game by completing objectives, gaining respect, and assisting the locals in earning training points, which are then used to unlock powers and ninjutsu. In addition, optional objectives, minigames, and hidden artifacts can be completed to receive even more points for training, as well as unlock or improve scrolls and thrown weapons. You also have the option to play the game in Fight mode, which has 11 playable characters from across the series. You can play the Tournament mode against AI, which gets progressively more challenging, or you can play multiplayer fights against a friend, either online or offline, or against AI. The last competition is the Forest of Death Tournament, which pits you against other players online and requires you to win five consecutive bouts. It is possible to download characters, each with its own set of unique combinations and ninjutsu.
