The National Hockey League 2K8 is the latest installment in the yearly hockey series produced by 2K Sports. The game allows the user to take charge of any of the 30 NHL clubs and lead them to greatness in either the Franchise mode or the Season mode, or they can merely play these teams in straight exhibition matches.
The franchise mode has been expanded, allowing for more control over the team during the off-season (such as improvements in the draft and negotiations), as well as tweaks to player progression and other changes to improve the realism of post-lockout NHL management, including waivers, salary cap management, free agents, and more. In addition, the game has received several other improvements. On the ice, while the game’s rules have remained the same, the newly implemented Superstar Moves have added a touch of world-class hockey to the action, notably during breakaways and penalty shots.
