This NiGHTS into Dreams… version is a port of the Saturn version with identical gameplay, but it also includes the levels from Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams… as a bonus. It also includes a feature from that edition in which the characters wear unique seasonal clothes on specific holidays. The game has two graphics modes: an upgraded remake style and a classic SEGA Saturn graphics option. Support for 16:9 widescreen (PS2), an illustration gallery, and a movie viewer mode are all new features.
The later published version for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows is another port of the Saturn game, although it is available as a digital download and is not confined to Japan. The content is the same as the PS2 version from four years ago but with new HD visuals and support for modern screens. All versions allow you to return to the original Saturn aesthetics. Some PS2-exclusive material, such as a two-player mode and the ability to play as Sonic, is missing. Leaderboards and achievements/trophies are new additions to the 2012 edition.
