Outpost Kaloki X is the Xbox 360 Live Arcade version of Outpost Kaloki, the amusing space station tycoon game. You run an interstellar space station with numerous ports that can accommodate space travelers, continuously balancing running costs and revenue. You can concentrate on entertainment, commerce, or science, but you must also build buildings, provide adequate power, and repair your constructions. Every port’s content and price may be micromanaged, and you can upgrade to new expansions while selling the old ones. At the same time, you must be on the lookout for alien invasions or asteroids.
There are two story modes: Adventure and War, with objectives for each mission, based on defending against attacks, creating structures, or generating cash. There are seven races to choose from and 50 space stations to explore. There is also a sandbox option, as in other tycoon games, where you can play without objectives or limits. Additional scenarios and graphic packs were available shortly after the game’s first release.
