Pure places the player behind the controls of an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV), sometimes known as a Quad Bike, but instead of selecting one from a pre-existing ensemble, he must build his own Quad Bike.

He has various possibilities, from the suspension over the engine to the shape and color of the handlebars. By completing the World Tour single-player campaign, he earns new parts by winning events and retrieving the flag buried on the track. Some elements are entirely ornamental and do not affect the bike’s performance, while others have a significant impact and are available in freestyle or race versions. Choosing which to utilize substantially impacts how the Quad Bike behaves in terms of speed and how easily the player can do tricks on it. Because the player gains more storage space, he can create the ideal Quad Bike for each game type (Race, Sprint, and Freestyle). Because of the way boost is handled, this is especially critical once the race has begun.

Each trick the player performs grants him more or less a boost, depending on how good it was and other parameters. That boost can then temporarily increase your Quad Bike’s speed. However, the gain a player has accumulated determines which tricks can be performed. Only basic tricks are available to the driver at the start of the race, and as he earns a boost, he unlocks advanced and, ultimately, professional tricks. So the player must decide if he wants to be able to perform more complex tricks and acquire more growth with a single scheme or if he is willing to give up this capacity for a short-speed advantage.

While the game modes race and sprint are simply races in which the person who finishes first wins, the placing does not matter in freestyle. Instead, the player must execute stunts to collect points. When a trick is successfully performed, a countdown begins, and if the player does another trick before the timer expires, the multiplicator increases. Power-ups are also distributed across the game, allowing the player to do a particular stunt, double his points, or refuel slightly. The last one is crucial because the race continues until the player runs out of fuel. When everyone’s gasoline runs out, the person with the most points wins.
