You play the role of Joe Musashi, a shinobi who must fight through each level in quest of hostages to be freed. You can defend yourself using shurikens, kicks, and punches, and you also have access to tremendous ninja magic that can clear the screen of foes in a single sweep if you use it.
Each level comprises several more miniature scenes, and prominent men wielding swords stand guard over the hostages in each of these settings. Watch out for armed henchmen and ninjas who belong to the adversary.
When you reach the end of each level, you will face off against a boss in a fight to the death. These can be as large as giants standing 8 feet tall or as small as helicopter gunships.
