The sixth installment in the Silent Hill game series is titled “Silent Hill: Homecoming.” In this game iteration, the player assumes control of a new protagonist named Alex Shepherd. Alex returns to his hometown of Shepherd’s Glen and learns of the disappearance of his younger brother. His search leads him onto the fog-filled streets of Silent Hill, where he must search the desolate town to rescue his brother and learn of his family’s dark secrets. The player also takes control of Alex.
The gameplay is the same as in the other games in the series, and it consists of the player searching for goods, using weapons and their bare hands to fight and protect themselves from monstrous foes, and solving riddles to progress further into the game. It includes a new graphics engine with a realistic and horrific sense and music composed by Akira Yamaoka, who also wrote for earlier Silent Hill series editions.
