A battle royale that will put a stop to all other battle royales. The action of Soul Calibur, the sequel to Soul Blade, takes place in a world influenced by a blend of ancient China in the 16th century and oriental medieval fancies and stories.
Each character has a unique fighting style and over a hundred moves, weapons, and other combat options. Characters can conduct high, mid, and low attacks and hold, throw, block, and special attacks. Of these assaults, one or more may be considered “un-blockable” and must be avoided by ducking, jumping, or rotating around your opponent.
The Soul Calibur conversion for the Dreamcast offers several new features compared to the coin-operated arcade original. These features include hidden characters and destinations, a campaign mode, and a tournament mode, in addition to numerous settings in which players can engage in battle and various models and costumes for each character. In addition, there is a “museum” where you may look at character profiles and watch motion-captured demonstrations of martial arts in action.
