The original Spelunky has been remade. This release features new opponents, music, areas, topography, objects, 11 unique playable characters, and upgraded graphics (which earn the label Spelunky HD). It also has a 4-player local co-op option and a deathmatch mode. The controls have been reworked specifically for use with a gamepad.
Aside from the new content, there are other minor differences between editions. The Steam and PSN versions include a Daily Challenge Mode in which users compete daily in the same randomly constructed cave. Because players do not share the same screen in co-op mode, the PSN version allows for more movement flexibility.
