You are ‘Splosion Man, the latest crazy nuclear experiment from Big Science’s irresponsible eggheads. Players must guide ‘Splosion Man through 50 single-player stages and three bosses to escape the labyrinth of science after running his vault.
Players can only move and “‘explode” up to three times, effectively triple-jumping their way through puzzles and away from severe hazards such as spike walls, rising amounts of acid, and security robots to reach a safe area at the game’s conclusion. The primary skill required is timing, as players must target increasingly narrow windows of’splosion jumps and exploding barrel launches while avoiding the scientists’ barriers and traps.
Along with the single-player story, there is a multiplayer campaign with 50 levels that involve progressively adept use of the ability to “explode” off one another for extra height and distance. The multiplayer mode supports up to four players. Along the way, players can collect hidden cakes for various achievements in single-player and multiplayer modes.
