The year is 2014, and more and more countries are turning to private military contractors rather than their armies to achieve strategic goals. The war has even spread to the battlefield because of the increased competition among those corporations for the finest contracts.

A PMC hU.S.es former US Navy pilot David Crenshaw afP.M.C. the US ArmU.S.releases him after helping the Ghost Recon squad during their operation in Juarez (Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2). When he is ordered to perform a series of different aerial missions worldwide, he quickly finds that he is being drawn deeper and deeper into the struggle for global military dominance, in which he even engages in warfare against his former employer. As he progresses from mercenary to general, matters soon fall into his hands, and his decisions will determine the battle’s outcome.

H.A.W.H.A.W.X.m Clancy is an action-oriented flight simulation comparable to Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII, in which the player controls an airplane in either first- or third-person view. Set shortly, the player gets access to various licensed planes, ranging from real-world aircraft such as the A-10A Thunderbolt II to prototype vehicles such as the F-15 Active utilized by NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center. Furthermore, before the game begins, the player can select a different weapon load-out for each plane. Both the weapon load-outs and the airplanes become available as the player progresses through the campaign. Each kill, as well as accomplishing objectives and tasks, awards the player with experience points.

While the mission goals range from defending Air Force One from enemy attacks to destroying ground targets, the challenges demand the player to defeat 50 adversaries using only his canon or achieve 300 aerial kills over the campaign. Throughout the game, the player will receive assistance from up to two additional pilots, whom he can direct to attack specific targets in his vision. The onboard computer also assists in estimating the best intercept or rocket avoidance routes.

In addition to standard keyboard, mouse, gamepad, and joystick compatibility, the game has voice recognition, which allows the player to fire missiles or change the target simply by saying a keyword into the microphone.
