Like its predecessor Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Lockdown, Vegas is an action-oriented tactical shooter. You take on the role of Logan Keller, the leader of a Rainbow Six unit. It would be best if you took on terrorists attempting to take over the city of Las Vegas while controlling two team members.

Through the storyline, the missions are all linked together. You always have varied objectives, such as rescuing a captive or defusing a bomb. To accomplish this, you can access various weaponry ranging from handguns to Assault Rifles and gadgets such as C4 or Tear Gas. You direct your men by shooting at anything and selecting from a list of options dubbed “Rules of Engagement,” which appear in a circle menu similar to Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. They will then do their utmost to complete your order while avoiding danger to themselves by seeking cover as frequently as possible.

When you take a hit, your vision blurs instead of a health indicator, and medipacks are dispersed over the map. If you take too many, you will die, but if you take shelter and wait a little, you will heal and be able to fight the terrorists again.

There are fewer foes than in previous versions, but they are more difficult to destroy due to enhanced AI. The mission planning has been deleted, weapons can now be picked up from dead enemies for the first time, and the aiming mechanism has been overhauled. The plot is now advanced through scenes during gameplay rather than through cutscenes.

Suppose you’ve saved Las Vegas or are sick of the AI. In that case, you can participate in the multiplayer modes for up to 15 other people, such as Assault & Defend, in which one team must take over an objective being defended by the other team, or Deathmatch in the Sharpshooter mode. You can also play the single-player story with pals or go on a terrorist hunt on randomly generated maps.
