Turok is a near-future first-person shooting game. There is no connection to the previous games or the comic book storyline. The protagonist is Joseph Turok, a former member of Wolf Pack (the game’s antagonist) who has joined Whiskey Company. The objective that led to the game’s events was straightforward: find Roland Kane (chief of the Wolf Pack and Turok’s previous master) and return him to Earth. However, things turned for the worst when a missile attacked the ship and crashed on the backwater planet. Worse, it is revealed that scientists from the Mendel Gruman Corporation have been terraforming the world to expedite evolution, resulting in dinosaurs hunting Turok, his allies, and his adversary. The objective of Joseph Turok is to survive at any cost.
The game’s goal is survival in hazardous areas with human soldiers and dinosaurs. By attracting soldiers, the dinosaurs can be utilized to eliminate them. All weapons have additional functions, such as flares that draw dinosaurs. Turok can also pick a sneaky strategy in the form of savage kills with arrows and his trusty knife. Online multiplayer is also available, including all of the weapons from the single-player game, as well as dinos and enormous scorpions on select maps. Classics like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag are included, as well as brand-new modes inspired by objective-based war games like Assault Capture the Flag and co-op missions. They all have a unique twist, such as CTF attaching a bait on the “flag carrier” to attract dinos to the player.
