The video game UFC 2009 Undisputed is based on mixed martial arts, featuring competitors and properties associated with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. UFC 2009 Undisputed is the first mixed martial arts video game of its generation, and it boasts over 80 competitors competing across all five weight classes. Additionally, it showcases over 100 UFC characters, ranging from the UFC’s broadcasters Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan to the ring girls Arianny Celeste and Edith Labelle.
Each fighter competes in one style from each category at UFC 2009 Undisputed, which covers three striking disciplines (Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai) and three grappling forms (Wrestling, Judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu). Two combatants engage in a head-to-head match inside an octagonal ring using the striking, grappling, and signature moves associated with each of their individual fighting styles to recreate the atmosphere of a UFC event.
Extending upon the various modes available in the game, the Exhibition mode is for any player who wants to dive right into the action as their preferred fighter. The player recreates some of the most iconic battles in Classic battles. If the player manages to get the fight to the same conclusion as the actual fight, they will be rewarded with a montage movie that showcases the most important moments from that particular fight. With Create-A-Fighter, any UFC fan will have the power to design their fighter. With the ability to upload their fighter into their Career, they will also have the opportunity to construct their Career in the sport.
