Worms is a follow-up game to Worms: Open Warfare. It features the traditional two-dimensional action and a more limited selection of weapons in the earlier Worms games. The graphics in this version have been improved for high definition.
In a manner analogous to that of artillery games, each player is given a squad of worms that they must use to combat the forces of other players while utilizing a variety of bizarre weapons in an environment that can be destroyed. There is a single-player mode where you can play against computer teams in custom matches or set challenges and a multiplayer mode where you can compete against up to four players locally or online.
Three levels are devoted to instruction, twenty tasks, and three tiers of difficulty for each challenge. On the leaderboards, the amount of time it took to complete each challenge is recorded. After the first release, several downloadable content packs featuring new environments and voice banks were made available.
