RISE OF THE RUBY & SINK OF THE SAPPHIRE: WHY EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT POKÉMON RISING RUBY & SINKING SAPPHIRE
Pokémon Rising Ruby & Sinking Sapphire are not just your regular Pokémon games. They’re revamped versions of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, offering a fresh experience with all 721 Pokémon up for grabs. The game’s emphasis on Pokémon availability is unmatched, with each area introducing a plethora of new species. And if you’re thinking of doing a Nuzlocke run, brace yourself for a challenge, as the game’s unpredictable encounters and beefed-up trainer battles will test your mettle.
A WHOLE NEW WILD WORLD
The wild Pokémon roster has been completely overhauled. Each area now boasts 10 or 11 Pokémon, each with a 10% encounter rate. And if you’re a fan of the classics, you’ll be thrilled to know that most basic forms are available early on. The game ensures that Pokémon are found in environments that resonate with their nature. However, a heads up for DexNav enthusiasts: not all Pokémon can be captured using it.
TRAINERS’ UPGRADE
Every trainer in the game has had their roster revamped. If you’re up for battling every trainer, you’ll encounter the majority of the 721 species. The level range has also been expanded, now ranging from 5 to a whopping 79/81. But don’t fret; the extra experience gained from battling evolved Pokémon will help you keep pace.
SPECIAL TRAINERS: NOT SO SPECIAL ANYMORE
Gym Leaders, Elite Four, rivals, and even team admins have been greatly upgraded. Expect to face trainers with the strongest AI setting, held items, enhanced movesets, and ideal abilities. And yes, most of them now have a full roster of 6 Pokémon. As you progress, be prepared for trainers unleashing Mega Evolutions against you.
POKÉMON STATS & ABILITIES REVAMP
Many Pokémon that were previously considered weak have had their stats boosted. Pokémon like Butterfree and Farfetch’d now have a fighting chance. Additionally, some Pokémon have undergone type and ability changes. For instance, get ready to battle a Bug/Water Masquerain or a Grass/Dragon Serperior.
MOVE OVER, OLD MOVES!
The level-up move pools for Pokémon have been reshuffled, making them more versatile. Some Pokémon have even been blessed with completely new moves. And for those tired of weak moves like Cut and Rock Smash, rejoice! They’ve been buffed to be more usable.
EVOLUTIONS & SHOPPING SPREE
Gone are the days of trading Pokémon for evolution. Also, Pokémon with high evolution levels have been adjusted to match the game’s difficulty curve. Shopping in Poké Marts has also been enhanced. Now, you can buy evolution stones, Dragon Scales, and even Mega Stones after earning certain badges. And if you’re looking for a bargain, Poké, Great, and Ultra Balls are now cheaper!
