The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave was released in Japan and then to other regions in 2012. The game runs on the Nintendo 3DS and uses augmented reality features. Players have to catch special creatures called Denpa Men through Wi-Fi signals or QR codes. These creatures have unique traits and powers. The combat system follows classic RPG rules. But the battles are not random. Players can choose to fight automatically and explore various dungeons. When party members fall into a dungeon, they will leave the party permanently. However, players can bring them back through a shrine. But only if they were originally caught near the antenna tower.
