N.F.L. Street 2 is the second installment in Electronic Arts’ arcade football series. Players compete to be the best urban footballer in the world by defeating other teams with gravity-defying tricks such as up-the-wall passes, off-the-wall catches, and highlight-reel wall jukes.

The game, like the others in the Street franchise, is played with a small number of players and a focus on arcade gameplay. In contrast to the first game, the walls can now be used for run-up passes, receptions, and bonuses by aiming for posters and hotspots.

There are twelve arenas to compete in (two of which can be unlocked), and the players are licensed from the 2004 N.F.L. rosters. On the PS2, PSP, and Xbox versions, multiplayer is available. There are various game modes in single-player, such as the N.F.L. Challenge, in which the player has 150 days to build a team to take on a squad of legends. Progress is measured through milestones in which you sharpen specific skills to reach the top or defeat good teams. When only five days remain, the team competes in a final tournament.

Another new mode is the new Own the City mode, in which the player creates a unique character and must win all of the city’s street games. Pick-up games must be used to find new players. Rapper Xzibit and a team of N.F.L. stars comprise the last team to defeat. Characters created in this mode can be imported into the N.F.L. Challenge and Madden N.F.L. 06.

The PSP version is a faithful port, with some cut scenes removed and three new Wi-Fi multiplayer street modes added: Street Slalom (an obstacle course), Style Point Challenge, and Style Standoff, an end zone dance contest similar to Space Channel 5. In Party Play game modes like the 2 Minute Challenge and Jump Ball Challenge, up to four players can play on a single PSP.
