In this installment of the SSX franchise, you can design your skier or snowboarder and head out onto the slopes. You choose the competition you want to participate in rather than boarding your way to the event, as you did in previous versions, using a front-end interface that is different from the one used in previous versions and looks like a combination of MTV and a doodle book.
Thanks to the new and improved controls that make it easier to perform “Monster Jumps,” also known as Uber Tricks, everyone can look like a pro without having to learn button combos. As was the case previously, if you complete the same trick repeatedly, you won’t get the points necessary to take your skier or snowboarder from being a beginner to being what they refer to as a “black-diamond-dominating rockstar.”
The game promises to have large jumps, a fast pace, and lots of different colored slopes with lots of detail.
The GameCube version of the game includes Mario, Luigi, and Peach as playable special characters on the mountain. Each has unique moves, and the music is in the Mario style.
