The Akaneia Build
The Akaneia Build is a fan-made mod (modification) for Super Smash Bros. Melee. It was created by Team Akaneia, a modding group. The mod is built on a system called m-ex, which enables expanded content in Melee.

Features:
New Playable Characters
The build keeps all 26 of Melee’s original characters (or 25, depending on how Zelda/Sheik are counted) intact.
It adds bonus characters — as of v1.0, there are 7 new fighters, bringing the total to around 33.
Notable additions include Wolf (from Star Fox), Tails, and King Dedede.
New Stages
In addition to Melee’s original 29 stages, Akaneia adds 18 new bonus stages.
Some stages are “past stages” from earlier Smash games, others are original creations.
Example stages: Sprout Tower (from Pokémon Gold/Silver), GameCube Realm, Dolphin Park, Saturn Valley.
New Game Modes
All-Star Versus — players fight using every character.
Tag Mode — a player becomes “it” (tagged), and being “it” at the end causes a stock loss.
Turbo Melee — move canceling mechanics, letting players cancel attacks more freely.
Volleyball — a minigame mode where players hit a ball over a net; no KOs on that stage.
Cosmetics & Alternate Content
All original characters have new alternate costumes.
New trophies have been added for the bonus characters, stages, and other elements; styled similarly to Melee’s original trophies.
The build includes new music tracks and remixes tailored to the new stages.
Compatibility
The mod is compatible with Dolphin (GameCube emulator) and Nintendont.
A clean Melee ISO (v1.2) is required to apply the build.
Preserves Melee Core Feel
The build retains the core Melee gameplay: it does not fundamentally change mechanics or balance but augments the game with more content.
The additions are made while keeping all the original content intact.
Release & Version Info
The v1.0.0 release includes Wolf, Tails, King Dedede, and various balance or bug fixes.
Earlier versions introduced the Volleyball mode, bug fixes, costume updates, etc.
