XGIII: Extreme G Racing

XGIII: Extreme G Racing is a racing game set in the future. Six teams compete for a racing championship, with the player controlling one of the two riders available in each group. The game retains the action elements of the previous titles: opponents will attempt to sabotage the race, and the player-controlled character will be able to respond with his arsenal of weapons.

Unlike in previous installments, weapons cannot be picked up on the road; instead, they must be purchased with money earned after a successful race. With each shot, all weapons now deplete the player’s weapon bar. Another difference is the absence of the previous entries’ “nitro” boosts, which have been replaced with a turbo system in which using the increase drains energy from the player character’s shields.
