Kickle Cubicle is a puzzle game developed in 1988 by Irem. However, it was not until 1990 that Irem released the game for Nintendo. Kickle Cubicle revolves around the main character named Kickle. The main character wakes up after a night of sleep in his kingdom. When opening the door to go out to see the sunrise, Kickle noticed a strange point different from the normal days. This place is not as vibrant as usual, not seeing people walking, and the scenery is unusually quiet. After walking down the street, he realized that everyone had been turned into ice, and only Kickle was not affected. In the process of finding out, he investigated who made this incident. It was the cruel magician who turned everyone into ice for his magic training. Kickle set out to save the kingdom; he used his frozen breath as a weapon. This helps him turn enemies into ice to freeze the evil magicians’ minions.

Players will embody the main character Kickle in the quest to rescue the kingdom. You will have to control the character through 4 glaciers in a sequence. Each region has many different levels with increasing difficulty. When completing all the levels of land, you will have to confront a boss. Defeating this boss will open a new area for you to explore. After completing all four land missions, you will unlock a new land consisting of 30 levels more laborious than the previous four lands.

In each level, players will control Kickle to solve a series of challenges set by the game. Your mission is to collect all the red Dream bags that are in that level. These red Dream bags will be found on the top of the screen, and the ice blocks them. You will have to destroy these ice sheets to collect the Dream bags. This ice will not be destroyed when you shoot. They will be destroyed when another piece of ice collides. You will create icicles by freezing enemies. In each level, there will be two devices that create creatures. These creatures can move up, down, left, and right. If you let these creatures touch your character, you will lose a life. Players can increase their lives by picking up heart-shaped items available on some levels. When the time runs out, or your life is over, you will have to replay that level.
