North & South is an action game released by Infogrames in 1989. The game is based on the American Civil War from 1961 to 1964. Civil war took place from North America to South America and caused great damage to the American economy and society in the late 19th century. Armies from different states continuously attacked. attack the opposing forces and create a scuffle.
Players will control a hero across many different terrains to break into the enemy’s base. They will be armed with a shotgun throughout the journey to destroy various enemies. A military map of the United States is displayed under the screen to help players mark the places they have moved through. First, they were taken to a military base. In this base, players will search for clues and weapons to move to the next location. However, they must overcome many enemies and obstacles in the base. If the player is killed by an enemy attack or falls into a trap, they will have to return to the beginning of the stage to start the game. Players will collect new weapons when destroying all enemies at the end of the base.
Before coming to the new battle, players will read a plot of the story is displayed on the screen. The next area they had to go through was an empty area. Different from the base that appeared in the first area, where players will be provided with a catapult with an unlimited number of bullets to attack the enemy. The enemy will consist of an elite army that uses guns to attack them. Players need to move left or right to shoot rocks at the enemy.
