Mario is brought back to life by BroDute and Timerock after he has died so that he can collect stars that will be used to repower the Scepter and remake the world. At the conclusion of the game, Mario will have to choose between BroDute and Timerock as the recipient of the power of the Scepter, which will allow him to recreate Earth.
