Galileo Mystery: The Crown of Midas is the predecessor to Der Fluch der Osterinsel, a visual adventure game that is the successor to that game.
The player assumes the roles of Stephan and Jessica, Stephan’s ex-girlfriend, while playing the game. They are looking for a relic that is referred to as the mythical 26th Rongorongo panel together. Starting in St. Petersburg, Stephan, and Jessica travel to Mumbai, Lima, and the Easter Islands. However, they cannot afford to waste any time because certain baddies are also looking for the relic to decipher the mystery on the strange Rongorongo panel.
The only difference between the Wii version and the DS version is that the Wii version uses 3D scenes in which the characters walk about, while the DS version uses drawn 2D backgrounds.
