The video game NBA Live 09 is a simulation of the sport of basketball. The Dynasty mode and the Be-a-Pro mode are not included in this version of the game because, compared to the other versions, this game places a considerably more significant emphasis on fast-paced arcade gameplay. The player can only participate in the entire season, the playoffs, or the FIBA World Championship.
The controls have been modified to correspond to the unique movement controls available on the Wii, which enable a greater degree of direct control over the players. In addition to that, it offers a unique playing option known as All-Play. In this mode, the player is solely responsible for controlling the passes (by selecting the next player with the Remote), the dunks (by emulating the throwing movement), and grabbing the ball away in defensive situations (by shaking the controller). Artificial intelligence takes care of everything else.
