The digital download version was already available when the first episode was released in 2006 (though technically a pre-order). The entire season was “re-released” in May 2007 when all episodes were distributed individually. This collection is also available on a double-sided DVD, which includes the following bonus features:
Steve Purcell designed the cover.
Trailers, machinima films, Season 1 outtakes, a concept art montage, and some cutscene commentary for Sam & Max, all playable on an ordinary DVD player (region free).
Buyers of the digital download edition can get the DVD for free (just shipping and handling are required), and they also get some of the episodes a little earlier than buyers of single episodes.
The retail version in the United States differs from the digital download version in that it includes, in addition to the episodes:
Steve Purcell’s Sam & Max artwork on a full-sized poster.
A bonus CD containing a unique Sam & Max Behind the Scenes video, exclusive character bios, trailers, concept art, and desktop wallpapers, as well as the Season One Soundtrack
The Wii version brings the game to the platform for the first time, with all six episodes modified for Wii controls and no extras.
