The period of Star Trek: The Next Generation serves as the backdrop for this action- and strategy-oriented video game. The Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, the Cardassians, the Dominion, and the Breen forces are the six playable races that players can choose from. Each of these species has its unique set of strengths and weaknesses. The great races are no longer interested in alliances or diplomacy; instead, they aim to rule as much of the Galaxy as possible by annexing other worlds and star systems.
During a war to subjugate the Galaxy, players must make strategic decisions regarding where to launch their offensive and where to hold back and defend. When a player turns, they can construct new fleets or improve existing ones, march toward and assault neighboring systems, and either fight in real-time space battles or let a simulation swiftly determine the outcomes. When the player successfully eradicated all opposing races, they triumphed and won the game.
