The TV Show King is a parody of a typical television trivia game show, and it features over 3,000 questions arranged into the difficulty levels of Normal, King, and Genius. The game can be played with anywhere from one to four people, and it can have three, six, or nine rounds, with each band having seven questions. In between games, players can spin a wheel, which may result in them gaining, losing, or exchanging money and the possibility of stealing or giving money to another player. At the conclusion, the top two competitors square off in a competition to see who can get the most accurate answers.

The actual questioning consists of displaying a question on the screen with the four possible responses underneath it; the respondent has fifteen seconds to select the correct option. A player chooses the solution using the Wii Remote, then displays it to the other participants. On the other hand, swiftness is rewarded: the person who gives the correct response after the first person will receive less credit than the first person, and so on. Since it is always possible to change your answer, it is not impossible to go along with the consensus (or fool them into thinking you are). A gimmick can be included in subsequent rounds to force the player to use the Remote to see the answers. This can be accomplished by “scratching away” a covering in front of them or using the pointer like a flashlight, in which case only the illuminated circle can be read.

If there are fewer than four players, the remaining spots will be taken by random Miis from your system that will be picked out of the crowd. Players select their own Miis to represent themselves in the game. There is a mode called Quiz Attack that can be played by an individual who is playing by themselves and does not willing to go through the standard game. In this mode, the player continues to play until they give an incorrect response.
