One of Midway’s more realistic arcade racing games is called CART Fury. It includes the Championship Auto Racing Teams license, original CART race tracks like Chicago Motor Speedway and Surfers Paradise, Australia, and championship drivers like Jimmy Vasser and Michael Andretti. The game is somewhat similar to the Cruis’n and Thunder series, featuring checkpoints and fantasy tracks. The main difference is that you have a Boost Meter, which you may utilize to get ahead of the other drivers. If you finish a lap within the allotted time, you will receive Superboost, a trail of fire that will put the other drivers in the rearview mirror.
In the PlayStation 2 version, the many game modes are Arcade, Simulator, Season, Sub-Games, and Driving 101. There is a time trial/practice mode and a mode called “Last Man Standing,” which is appropriately named because your opponents will try to wear you down! In addition to that, there are 12 hidden cars, and in the Danny Sullivan Theater, you can witness previously unseen movie sequences.
