The video game Cars is a racing simulation based on the movie of the same name. The game features an open-world design with a mission-based gameplay format, and it lets players explore the town of Radiator Springs and its locations. The plot centered on Lightning McQueen, a rookie race car driver with aspirations of making it big in the racing world and participating in the Piston Cup, the fictional version of NASCAR competitions. You can travel the world, converse with other players and characters, and participate in various racing tasks to progress the plot.
In the Story Mode, in addition to the five Piston Cup Races and extra minigames, there are over twenty different Road Races for players to compete in. During playing through the Story Mode, the player will earn bonus points. These points can be redeemed for additional content, such as other boost abilities, new racers (10 in all), new landscapes, and minigames. Some examples of these are obstacle courses or military training events. The game also has a VS. Mode and an Arcade Menu, allowing players to compete head-to-head against one another. The races unlocked in Story Mode may be accessed quickly through the Arcade Menu.
