The plot of TK continues in the fourth installment of the Driver video game series Driver: Parallel Lines. TK was convicted of a crime he did not commit in 1978 and sentenced to 28 years. At the time of his conviction, TK was 18 years old and had recently graduated from high school. He was finally released from prison in 2006. Now that he has honed his driving skills, he plans to exact revenge on the local police department for making him do time for a crime that should have resulted in the imprisonment of another individual.

In contrast to Driv3r, most of the action in Driver: Parallel Lines takes place behind the wheel, reviving the gameplay that made the original game such a beloved classic. However, the game maintains a Grand Theft Auto–inspired open world, and it is still possible to get out of your vehicle and engage in some action on foot. However, given that most of the game’s objectives entail giving pursuit to law enforcement vehicles, there is little incentive to get out of your car until it has been severely damaged and you cannot control it. If this is the case, you have two options: take your vehicle to a repair shop to fix it, or you can just steal a car from someone else! To pass the time until then, you can fight the police officers with your fists and take their guns after they’ve been killed so that you can use them in subsequent fights on foot.

The events in the game occurred in 1978 (before TK’s incarceration) and 2006. Compared to the 1978 setting, which features a predominantly dance soundtrack, the 2006 set features a significantly more current soundtrack. It should come as no surprise that 2006 features buildings, technology, and contemporary automobiles.
