This mod allows you to play the Half-Life: Blue Shift expansion on the PlayStation 2. The Spanish version made by Gabriel1Hot translates chapter texts, voices into Spanish and the loading icon into Spanish, the menu is not translated. The original mod was created by supadupaplex.
Important
If you have audio problems playing from OPL with FMCB, it should be solved by starting OPL from boot. To do this you must assign a key from the FMCB menu and start OPL by holding that button during PS2 boot.
Changelog
Alien mode is now fully playable (the cheat code for it is the same as before and can also be obtained in-game). It is highly recommended to play through normal mode first to familiarize yourself with Blue Shift’s peculiar level design, as all human characters’ speech will be replaced by gibberish.
Bone textures have been animated; improved item grip and finger use.
PS2 maps have been edited to have model-based magazines (PC and DC maps were left with classic magazines).
As in the original PS2 Half-Life, cheat codes can now be obtained in-game: 2 of those codes are found in known locations, while 4 others are scattered throughout the main Blue Shift campaign.
The Hidden Crossbow and Hive Gun can now be obtained in-game (but be aware that crossbow ammo is scarce, use it carefully).
A joystick button has been assigned to change weapon bindings in Controller Settings.
By default the frame rate is capped at 30 FPS to improve frame rate. If you don’t like this change, you can always uncapped the frame rate from the pause menu.
Minor tweaks to the HUD to better differentiate between PS2, DC, and PC.
The hidden Dreamcast Blue Shift intro can be viewed from the New Game menu.
PC models have been optimized for performance (but some HD models have been mixed in to prevent crashes) and skybox indices have been patched to prevent texture tearing when using these models.
New background image. Instead of trying to add PS2 elements to the original Blue Shift background, the Half-Life PS2 background image has been retouched to look more like Blue Shift’s.
Fixed some long-standing issues:
strange window behavior in the “Insecurity” chapter;
Scientists missing from the elevator crash in Insecurity;
Broken Xen crystal fitting sequence;
PS2 mode now shares maps with Dreamcast instead of PC for improved performance.
