The third installment in the Jak and Daxter series, Jak II is a 3D action platformer and the sequel to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Following the mission’s conclusion outlined in the game’s initial title, Jak and Daxter are transported to a different era and location and the planet’s future, where everything has been altered. The two are forced to part ways, with Jak ending up in prison at the hands of Haven City’s dictator, Baron Praxis. During two years, Jak is subjected to experiments involving dark Eco, which transform him into a character comparable to the Hulk in that he is vicious and filled with rage.
After being rescued by Daxter, they are forced to continue their journey to find a method to end the procedure and get retribution for Jak’s involuntary transformation. Along the way, they will meet new friends and dangerous enemies (also known as Metal Heads). Still, at least now Jak has something special on his side: weapons, and a lot of them, including a shotgun, sniper rifle, machine gun, and a potent blast weapon as part of its arsenal. Playing the game entails navigating platforms, racing vehicles, completing rescue missions, hoverboarding, competing in minigames, and engaging in gun battles against various foes, including bosses.
