Before an unforeseen encounter one day altered the course of Tommy Angelo’s life in Lost Heaven for good; he was just a regular cab driver attempting to make a livelihood on the city’s streets. Two men jumped into his cab and told him to accelerate quickly. As a car full of armed pursuers draws closer, the taxi starts to take damage from the bullets. Tommy, who almost avoided being murdered brutally, complies with the requests of the two men and takes them to the pub of their choosing.

After being impressed by his driving abilities, the men give him a job in the mafia and pay him for his services. The following day, when Tommy is taking a break for some coffee, two rival criminals steal into his cab and smash it to pieces. Following this, he is reminded of the proposition from the previous day. Without much hesitation, he becomes a member of the Salieri family, taking his initial steps toward a career in organized crime. As Tommy continues carrying out his obligations to Salieri, he gradually starts questioning his decision. On the other hand, getting into the mafia was a lot simpler than getting out of it.

Mafia is an action and driving game in the 1930s in the fictional city of Lost Heaven, located in the United States and modeled after New York City and Chicago during Prohibition. It is similar to Grand Theft Auto games in that it involves free-roaming through a vast metropolis, either by driving or on foot, and fulfilling objectives to progress the story. The goals typically involve traveling to various locations, engaging in vehicle chases, and participating in at least one race. Most missions are organized like rather extensive and lengthy third-person shooter levels.

Over sixty cars and motorcycles from the 1930s will be available for the player to pilot throughout the game. Each vehicle feels the impact differently, resulting in varying degrees of damage. It is possible to shoot out the tires of the car, dent the body of the vehicle, shoot out the windows, break the bumpers, lights, and mirrors, and shoot the tires to the point where they fall off. If the car’s gas tank were to get pierced, the gas would slowly flow out until the car was empty, giving an additional layer of realism. The player can recharge their vehicle thanks to the gas stations dispersed over the city. The game provides the player with access to vehicles that allow them to go through twelve square miles of the town to places like Chinatown, Central Island, and the Downtown region.

A wide variety of weaponry, including handguns, submachine guns, shotguns, explosives, baseball bats, and crowbars, are provided in addition to the vehicles. Tommy can get out of a drive-by shooting by positioning his hand outside the car’s window and discharging a gun while he is d. The police force is attempting to obstruct him; they will investigate anything that seems suspect. They will try to place Tommy under arrest if they see him carrying a weapon. To avoid receiving a fine, drivers should avoid going over the posted speed limit, running red lights, and colliding with buildings, other vehicles, or objects.

Ralph, the Salieri family’s mechanic, typically provides new vehicles for Tommy to utilize while on missions, which are often supplied to Tommy. In addition, the player can save cars that have been stolen in the backyard of the tavern that belongs to Salieri. At the start of each mission, Vincenzo, the neighborhood arms dealer, will be available to sell you some weapons.
